Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

Type of work performed:
Procurement, Logistics, Pre-fabrication, Site Welding and Construction of pipework, valves and fittings.

Service Provided: Construction supervision, McElroy 900, McElroy 500 Dixon 1200 & EF Welding, Loader & Telehandler operators, quality assurance, flange management.

Outcomes:

  • Installation of 8km of piping, ranging in sizes from 63mm to 1000mm
  • Completion of 300+ integrity welds with full weld traceability.
  • Completion of 48 Electrofusion welds to install air breathers
  • Complete on schedule and budget with no safety issues or concerns.

Site installation of pipework, valves, custom supports and fittings.

Service Provided: Construction supervision, McElroy 630 & Dixon 630 welding, EF Welding, Loader & Telehandler operators, quality assurance. 

Outcomes:

  • Installation of 20km of 630mm pipeline, with sections of 800mm and 560mm pipe.
  • Completion of 1,100+ integrity welds with full weld traceability.
  • Installation of two pumping stations and 150m of submerged pipe into a Dam.
  • Complete on schedule and budget with no safety issues or concerns.

Redirect 710mm discharge pipework

Type of work performed:

A mining client approached us for a solution to redirect a 710mm water treatment plant discharge line that was going to interfere with mining operations in the near future.

Project constraints included

  • A tight timeframe as the pipeline had to be moved asap before it slowed down mining operations
  • A limit on the amount of time the discharge line could be out of service
  • Ground conditions were challenging with uneven terrain and a significant change in elevation along the new route

Our team were reactive and through collaboration with the client and an earthworks contractor we developed & executed a robust construction plan, which included sourcing the majority of the existing materials from site & relocating the existing pipeline into its new position to keep project costs down. We coordinated the road crossing on active mine haul road to minimise downtime and through our trusted network of local suppliers we were able to source a suitable materials handling equipment at short notice plus mobilise our 1200 Dixon to execute the works.

Outcomes:

Safely & Efficiently redirected 900m of 710mm pipe in 8 days including 1 x road crossings, tie in to existing 710 and 630 pipeline and installation of tapping saddles and air breathers.

Project: Mining sector - Fabricate custom PVC Deflector Chute

Type of work performed:

A mining client approached us to fabricate a new deflector chute.

The client provided a drawing for this one so we were able to quickly turnaround the quote to fabricate the custom 6mm PVC Deflector Chute. Once we received the PO our fabricators used precision cutting tools to cut the PVC sheets into the required shapes and sizes ready for welding. With the use of a jig to assist assembly we then commenced welding the components into the final product.

In line with our ISO 9001 accredited Quality Processes, the Deflector Chute then underwent QAQC inspection to ensure dimensions, weld integrity and appearance are as required before being safely secured to a pallet, labelled up and ready for dispatch.

Fabricate custom HDPE Belt Guard

Type of work performed:

A mining client approached us for a solution to replace a steel safety guard.

Our HDPE machine guards are an ideal replacement to mild steel, aluminium or galvanized sheet and is easier to handle, especially in high maintenance areas where removing of guards is a regular occurrence. They are Impact resistant, lightweight, corrosion and rust free with low maintenance, no painting will ever be required because of the Standard Safety Yellow colouring.

Our team liaised with the client, arranged a site visit to measure the existing guard then drafted up a drawing of the replacement guard, once a PO was received we fabricated the new guard from 6mm HDPE ready for the client to install.

Fabricate Suction Manifold

Type of work performed:

A farming client approached us to fabricate a flanged suction manifold from PE100, this complex assembly consisted of 3 x concentric reducing tee’s, 3 x 2” BSPT outlets and concentric reducers on either end, one with a 7 degree offset. After a few clarifications with the client our fabricators accurately fabricated the assembly, including the 7 degree offset on the inlet flange using our 315 wold poly fitting and fabrication machine.

The Worldpoly hydraulically operated workshop machine is for the butt-welding of pipes and fittings in PE, PP and other thermoplastic materials. Pivoting clamps allow for the fabrication of segmented bends of different radii. Optional clamps allow the production of bends from 90 to 315mm OD, 90 to 315mm 90 degree equal tees and crosses, and 45 and 60 degree branch tees 90mm to 315mm.
